This afternoon, Wednesday 6 August 2003, 338 Palestinian prisoners and detainees were released from Israeli prisons and military detention camps. Of the 338 released, 157 were administrative detainees whose administrative detention orders were to expire shortly, and 181 were sentenced prisoners. One of the sentenced prisoners included in published lists of prisoners to be released remained in prison due to the fact that a petition was filed against his release.
