Israeli Occupation to Present Charges against 18-Year-Old Injured Detainee Mohammad Burqan

Ramallah- 8/10/2015- Addameer lawyer adv. Farah Bayadseh reported that the judge at the magistrate court decided to delay the hearing of Mohammad Barqan’s (18 years old) to Sunday 11/10/2015 in order to enable the occupation’s military prosecution to issue a list of charges against him despite his critical health condition.

The occupation forces transferred Burqan from Ein Kerem Hospital (Hadassah Medical Center) to Moskobiyeh interrogation center without taking his critical health condition into consideration. Burqan lost sight in his left eye after the IOF shot a rubber bullet at that same eye.

Adv. Bayadseh, who visited Burqan at Moskobiyeh interrogation center, added that he suffers from headache and continuous dizziness. He has not eaten in four days because moving his jaw causes extreme pain. He also suffers from nose bleeds and cannot sleep adequately.

Adv. Bayaseh confirmed that despite of Burqan’s critical health condition, he did not receive any kind of medical treatment or medicine and did not have any medical examinations since arriving to Moskobiyeh interrogation center.

The IOF arrested Mohammad Burqan (18 years old) from Thawri refugee camp in Jerusalem on 4/10/2015 after he was shot with a rubber bullet in his left eye. He was left unconscious and bleeding for more than an hour before being arrested and then taken to Ein Kerem Hospital (Hadassah Medical Center).

Addameer expresses its utmost concern over the gravity of occupation leaders’ official statements and instructions which endanger the lives of Palestinian civilians and encourage murdering and punishing them. These statements also coincide with the settlers continuous daily crimes against Palestinians, where the settlers are protected by occupation forces who are practicing a wide arrest campaign that has targeted more than 250 Palestinians in the past few days.
