Addameer for Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association continues to monitor the escalating violations against Palestinian female prisoners in the occupation’s prisons. Currently, 36 Palestinian women are being held, including one minor under the age of 18. Among them are five women held under administrative detention without charge or trial, two pregnant women in their fifth month of pregnancy, and two women suffering from cancer—all without access to adequate medical care.

Regarding the conditions in "Hasharon" Prison, where female prisoners are temporarily transferred before being moved to Damon Prison, the detainees have reported being held in extremely filthy cells that lack the most basic standards of cleanliness. They are given only a mattress and a blanket to sleep with, under constant surveillance by cameras, with no privacy. They are subjected to harsh and degrading treatment, given poor-quality food, and subjected to repeated strip searches, constituting a blatant violation of their dignity.

In “Damon” Prison, where most of the women are held, they live in extremely difficult conditions. They suffer from severe food shortages leading to health problems. They are denied knowledge of the time due to the absence of clocks and watches. They are subjected to daily searches, during which they are shackled and taken out of their rooms, and in some cases, searched at night while blindfolded and handcuffed. These searches are conducted with no regard for their privacy, and their personal belongings are confiscated entirely including basic items like plastic containers.

Female prisoners also suffer from deprivation of essential hygiene products such as toilet paper and soap. The prison administration only provides a small cup of dish soap once a week. There is no laundry soap, so the women are forced to use shampoo instead. They also lack sufficient clothing and are each held with only one set of clothes, with no access to clean or alternative garments.

The prison administration also deprives ill detainees of necessary healthcare. Despite the urgent medical needs of two cancer patients and two pregnant women in their fifth month, they are not given the required medical checkups or follow-up care.

Addameer reaffirms that the crimes committed against Palestinian female prisoners will not go unpunished. Addameer calls on the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants against all those responsible for crimes against Palestinian female prisoners. It also urges the international community to treat the Israeli occupation as illegal and unlawful, in accordance with the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, and to boycott the occupation economically, culturally, and academically—especially in light of its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people and its war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against Palestinian prisoners.

Addameer further calls states to put pressure on the illegal occupying authorities to immediately allow international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, to visit prisons and detention centers to document these violations and ensure that medical, health, and psychological care is provided to female prisoners in accordance with international standards.
