Addameer reiterates its grave concern for the life of Khader Adnan, who received no decision today in the appeal against his administrative detention order. On the 54th day of his hunger strike, Khader’s health has entered an alarmingly critical stage that will likely have irreversible consequences and could lead to his fatal collapse at any moment. He stated that he will remain steadfast in his hunger strike until he is released.

Addameer expresses its utmost concern about the health of Khader Adnan, who remains steadfast on Day 52 of his hunger strike in protest of being held in administrative detention and refuses treatment until his release. Despite his rapidly deteriorating condition, an Israeli military judge issued a decision today confirming his administrative detention order for a period of four months.

Addameer demands the immediate release of Khader Adnan, a Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike currently held without charge or trial by Israel. The duration of his administrative detention has been set at 4 months, due to expire on 8 May 2012.
